Happy Birthday John Frusciante!

Happy Birthday John Frusciante!

The all-time guitarist got his start at the fresh young age of 18, when he joined the Red Hot Chilli Peppers, to replace their founding member Hilel Slovak, after his death. John made his debut on Mother's Milk in 1989, which served as a breakthrough hit for the band, after years of punk funk underground popularity. The single "Higher Ground", a cover of the Stevie Wonder hit, would give them crossover success.

His second album with the band would give them a masterpiece, as "Blood Sugar Sex Magik" would be a massive hit, skyrocketing the group on top of the rock world during the heart of the grunge explosion. Frusciante's chord playing mastery shined on "Give It Away", and "Under The Bridge" and the band became headliners for their biggest tour to date.

The pressure of fame would eventually break John down, as he quit the band at their height in 1992, and began a period of heroin addiction. After, hitting rock bottom he would complete rehab and go back to the Chili Peppers, hitting big again with the massive albums, Californication, By the Way, and Stadium Arcadium.

He would leave the band again, but has recently rejoined and is currently touring. With 11 solo albums, and 7 EPs, John would be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with the Chili Peppers in 2012 and has been named among the greatest guitarists of all time.
