Today is Chester Bennington's birthday. The lead singer of Linkin Park hit the scene with the band in 2000 with the debut, Hybrid Theory. A worldwide success, the album was certified Diamond, making it the bestselling debut album of the decade. The band's continued success for their next six studio albums, from Meteora 2003 to One More Light in 2017, saw each of them chart within the top three spots in the Billboard 200.
Bennington would form his own band, Dead by Sunrise, in 2005 and eventually release their debut album, Out of Ashes in 2009. He would also became the lead singer of Stone Temple Pilots in 2013 and released the EP High Rise in 2013, but eventually left in 2015 to go back to Linkin Park.
Chester also made the crossover to acting, appearing in Crank in 2006, Crank: High Voltage in 2009, and Saw 3D in 2010. Hit Parader placed Bennington at number 46 on their list of the "Top 100 Metal Vocalists of All Time," as Bennington has been ranked as one of the greatest rock vocalists of his generation!
