Queen and Sony Music are in talks for the sale of Queen's catalogue for $1 billion!
Sony are reportadly working on a deal that “could potentially total $1 billion!"
If it goes through the deal will be the biggest since Bruce Springsteen's $550 million deal with Sony. The band's music rights, however are owned by different companies, as Disney Music Group owns the rights in North America, while Queen Productions Ltd. and Queen Music Ltd, owns the recording and publishing catalogs in the rest of the world.
This will mark yet another one of many rock artists who've sold their catalog in recent years, as KISS sold their music catalog, to Pophouse Entertainment Group, and Motley Crue, Neil Young, Bob Dylan, ZZ Top and Alice In Chains, have all sold their catalogs as well.
