A rare fish washed up on Oregon’s northern coast, 7.3-foot long!
The hoodwinker sunfish appeared on the beach in Gearhart, Oregon, and will remain there for weeks, as it is difficult for scavengers to puncture its tough skin. Photos have begun to circulate, showing a flat, round, gray fish lying on its side in the sand, looking like a rock. A New Zealand-based researcher confirmed that it was a hoodwinker sunfish, and may be the largest such fish ever seen.
People have been coming up to take pictures of the fish all week long, as this is a rare occasion to say that you caught a fish THIS BIG, and that fish is the size of Yao Ming.
