It's Pina Colada DAY!!
July 10 is the day that we recognize the sweet, rum-based cocktail, with the cream of coconut and pineapple juice.
Pina Colada means ‘strained pineapple,' which is a reference to the pressed and strained pineapple juice. Made in 1922 in San Juan the cocktail's flavor is the definition of sunshine and vacation, and was the basis of songwriter Rupert Holmes' hit single "Escape (The Piña Colada Song)" which has been the signature song of summer and vacations for decades.
Since we are now fully into Summer, end your day at your favorite bar and enjoy a Pina Colada and maybe like Rupert you get caught in the rain and make love at midnight!
