It's Stewart Copeland's Birthday!

It's Stewart Copeland's Birthday!

One of the greatest drummers of all-time regardless of genre, Copeland is a Rock & Roll Hall Of Famer with The Police, who dominated rock from 1977 to 1986 with a string of hit albums and singles and tours that blazed a trail around the world. His musical style is one of if not the most distinctive in music, as his refusal to play a backbeat and his ability to use syncopation makes him unmatched in the world of music.

Before playing with the Police, he made a name for himself playing for Curved Air, before breaking off to jump into the punk scene with The Police and helping pave the way for New Wave. After the fallout of The Police breakup he would break into the world of film as a composer, with films like Wall Street, Men at Work, and We Are Your Friends to become one of the most sought after music writers in the business.

He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with The Police in 2003, and the Modern Drummer Hall of Fame in 2005. A true God of rock Stewart Copeland is as unique as his sound.

Happy Birthday Stewart!
