What was just a few dates of a reunion show is now a full on tour!
Rush may not have anticipated the demand (don't know why they didn't), but the fans and venues are lining up for shows and Rush is meeting the demand! 17 more shows are on the bill which has stacked to 50 dates, so this is now a full blown show your coming to a city near you.
After, mourning the death of Neil Peart, five years later Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson are back together with additions to the band!
Rush made the announcement on their socials citing time as being a healer of their loss and the joy of playing the old songs is bringing them back together. The obvious question that comes with the announcement is who will play in Neil’s place. Unlike Led Zeppelin, who traditionally used Jason Bonham, son of the late John Bonham, Peart doesn’t have a legacy that plays drums to fill the spot.
And though, Tool’s Danny Carey did fill in, when the two played at the tribute for Taylor Hawkins tribute concert, the band quickly answered the question with the announcement of Anika Nilles, who gained a following on YouTube with instructional and reaction videos, as well as two album releases of her own. Nilles has been playing with Lee and Lifeson in recent years as the two rehearsed together, so both found her to be the natural fit to take Neil’s place. These shows are selling out fast so when they become available you better be ready.
Welcome back to The Kings!
