It’s Jeff Ament’s Birthday!
Not only is he one of the most storied musicians that came out of the Seattle scene, but he is the centerpiece of one of the greatest bands of his generation Pearl Jam!
His rise began in the 80’s as a co-founder of the now infamous band Green River, whose former members would spawn the groups Mudhoney and Mother Love Bone. His band Mother Lover Bone, was on the eve of breaking out on the music scene, when singer Andy Wood passed away, which led to the creation of the Super Group Temple Of The Dog. It was during these sessions that Pearl Jam would be formed and the rest is Grunge history.
Alongside Stone Gossard, Mike McCready, and Eddie Vedder, Ament wrote or co-wrote many of Pearl Jam's biggest hits, including "Dissident", and the iconic “Jeremy”, and even found time to release solo albums “Tone”, “While My Heart Beats”, and “Heaven/Hell”. Ament was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Pearl Jam and was recognized as one of the top hard rock and metal bassists of all time.
