A theft occurred in which 400,000 KitKat bars that weighed roughly around 12 tons were stolen from a truck in Europe!
The truck was stolen when it was out to distribute the bars along a route from Italy to Poland,
“The vehicle and its contents remain unaccounted for, and investigations are ongoing in close collaboration with local authorities and supply chain partners,” reads the statement from Nestle.
A total of 413,793 KitKat bars were stolen, and each one is traceable via on-pack batch numbers, so KitKat has asked anyone who comes across one to contact the company.
“We’ve always encouraged people to have a break with KITKAT – but it seems thieves have taken the message too literally and made a break with more than 12 tons of our chocolate,” said a spokesperson in the statement. “Whilst we appreciate the criminals’ exceptional taste, the fact remains that cargo theft is an escalating issue for businesses of all sizes.”
So if you do come across one, fight the urge to snack on that Kit Kat and call it in.
