Publix Offering Vaccine Appointments At All Florida In-Store Pharmacies

Publix is opening up its on-line reservation system for vaccination appointments at all 730 of its in-store Florida pharmacies, including stores in the Tampa Bay area, as well as the addition of Miami-Dade and Broward counties.

The supermarket chain had canceled three of its scheduling events after last week's shipment of Moderna vaccine was held up due to the winter storm. When the web portal reopened on Wednesday, only stores in 20 counties were a part of it.

As of Friday, all of Florida's Publix pharmacies will be offering the appointments for residents ages 65 and older.

“We’re pleased to bring appointment opportunities to each of our in-store Florida pharmacies,” Publix CEO Todd Jones said in a statement on Thursday. “We know how important this vaccine is to the people we serve, and we are grateful we can expand our ability to help our communities during this time of need.”

Appointment scheduling will start at 7:00 a.m. Friday.
