KENDALL, FL - A huge drug bust near a South Florida school resulted in the arrest of 5 people and the seizure of 15 duffel bags and seven coolers filled with drugs.
According to Miami-Dade police, the department's Kendall District Crime Suppression Team was conducting surveillance of a parking lot on the 9300 block of Sunset Drive on Friday when they made the bust.
Police say they received an anonymous tip that possible drug deals were happening in a parking lot in the area, not far from True North Classical Academy.
As detectives approached the suspects under surveillance, they noticed a strong smell of marijuana coming from their vehicles.
Authorities found 15 duffel bags and seven coolers filled with marijuana, THC cartridges, THC syrup containers, vape pen cartridges, THC chocolates, mushroom chocolate bars and other illegal items.
The five suspects arrested face charges that include drug possession with intent to sell within 1,000 feet of a school and possession of a controlled substance.
