The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office held its Bi-monthly awards ceremony on Thursday.

Among the honorees was Detective Brittany Christoffel who was named 'Detective of the Month.' She is credited with the arrest of the suspect in the Baby June case.

The one-day-old infant was found floating in the waters of the Boynton Beach Inlet back on June 1st, 2018.

29-year old Arya Singh was charged with first degree murder last December.

Detective Christoffel says new state-of-the-art DNA technology being used for the first time led them to the baby's father and that man led investigators to Singh. The father was not aware he had a child.

The Sheriff's Office cites Christoffel's "exceptional investigative skills and dedication" for helping to solve the case and bring justice to Baby June.
