Budget Battle In Broward Ahead Of Final Vote Tonight

A battle brewing in Broward over the 8.8-billion-dollar budget that's expected to get final approval tonight. But Mayor Nan Rich says she's confident they can ink a deal even though Sheriff Gregory Tony wants 70-million more than his office is being offered. The Commission gave preliminary approval to a sheriff’s budget increase of about $49 million for this upcoming fiscal year. The budget earmarks money for affordalble housing, eviction prevention and the homeless. The tax rate will remain the same.
