Dwayne Wade Honored With Statue Outside Miami Heat Arena

Miami, FL - Dwyane Wade was honored with a statue outside the Miami Heat arena, making him the first player to receive such a tribute from the franchise.

Miami Heat legend Dwyane Wade has achieved another historic milestone.

On Sunday, the team unveiled a statue honoring his illustrious career, making him the first Heat player to receive such a tribute.

The statue, located outside the front doors of the arena, celebrates Wade's numerous accomplishments, including being the franchise's all-time leading scorer and a three-time NBA champion. He and Udonis Haslem are the only players to have been on all three championship teams.

"This is crazy," Wade said at the unveiling. "I wanted to feel this.

Life goes by so fast, and it's very rare that we get to feel things."

The Heat will celebrate Wade further on Monday night when they host the Detroit Pistons, marking the 21st anniversary of Wade's NBA debut.

Wade, a Basketball Hall of Famer, joins a select group of former Heat players who have had their numbers retired, including Haslem, Chris Bosh, Tim Hardaway, Shaquille O'Neal, and Alonzo Mourning.
