Rumors are swirling that something spectacular could be happening soon! University of Miami Athletic Director Blake James tweeted out yesterday that he will have a MAJOR scheduling announcement. Once that dropped, college football boards around the country started saying the announcement is going to be a renewal of the annual Miami/Florida football game. The Canes and Gators played an annual series for almost half a century beginning in 1938. The yearly series ended in 1988 after Florida decided end it after getting destroyed 31-4 in 1987. The teams have played one-offs six times since 2001 with the Canes 5-1 during that stretch. Despite the dominance the Canes have had over the Gators over the last 30+ years, a renewal of this storied rivalry is something all fans can get behind!
