"What's old is new again" has been the way of Hollywood for the last few years. Everything is getting remade, rebooted, or reimagined for new audiences and themes. Up until now, it seemed like the '80s was the goldmine for things to bring back, but now it seems like the '90s are getting attention. Matrix 4 gets announced, Nickelodeon starts bringing back old shows, and now Face/Off is getting rebooted!
As reported by Variety, the 1997 John Woo film starring Nicholas Cage and John Travolta is getting a fresh coat of paint. The report notes that no director or actors have joined the project yet, but it's still going to follow that basic premise of "action film where the two characters swap faces." And we've definitely got some ideas for the stars:
How about Jake Gyllenhaal & Benedict Cumberbatch? Or maybe we can switch Ben Affleck & Matt Damon? Or switch two top actresses like Margot Robbie & Angelina Jolie? Or maybe even do a Marvel rematch with Chadwick Boseman & Michael B. Jordan?
So many possibilities! Let us know what you think!
