Thinking About The Rock Gods:
I never did get a chance to see The Cars in concert, and with the passing of Ric Ocasek, their founding member, I never will. We lost Eddie Money last Friday, way too young, and I’m happy to say that I caught his act many times over the years.
I am not trying to be macabre here, BUT...if you’re hedging on paying the big bucks to see a classic rock band the next time...pony up. They may not be coming back. For example The Who this Friday night at the BB&T. We all know Daltry and Townsend aren’t exactly spring chickens!
I was lucky enough to catch Peter Frampton last weekend in West Palm Beach. The last time I saw him before that? 1977.
The Stones were just here, and while I missed that evening at the Hard Rock, Mick Jagger almost did too with his heart problems! Somehow I’ve missed Paul McCartney over the years, and I hope I don’t regret that. But our rock heroes are getting older, and they can’t stay on the road forever. So, if it’s between Chinese takeout and Netflix or Bob Seger's farewell tour...make the right choice.
