No college football for me this weekend, so my kid came down from UF to spend some time with his Mom and Dad, because he loves us. And because he needed a car. He may love us, but he needed a car. His hand me down finally took a crap, and we want HJ safe driving back and forth from Gainesville. My buddy Hooley at Plantation Ford is doing 0% financing so we pulled the trigger.
But even better than being able to buy my son a car (Alden, if his grades drop, you can have it), was taking him to the greatest Chinese restaurant down here, Silver Pond In Lauderhill. I’ve been raving about this place for years to him, and when I pulled up to the, let’s just say, “less than fancy” strip mall, he was like, “Are you sure, Dad?” And then the food arrived.
Crispy fried chicken, vermicelli noodles with shrimp, sizzling black chicken, we ate the whole restaurant. Afterwards AJ turned towards me in the car. He said, "Thanks, Dad." And I said "For the car or the Chinese food?" He simply replied, "For a great day."
