Welcome to a new installment of our wrestling recap. We're going to talk results & storylines from the two warring wrestling shows: AEW and NXT. Find out what happened this week, including details on the two tag titles matches, and a new first in women's wrestling!
Let's start with AEW. Here are this week's match results:

- Hikaru Shida vs. Shanna - Winner: Hikaru Shida
- Best Friends with Orange Cassidy vs. John Silver, Alex Reynolds, & QT Marshall - Winners: Best Friends with Orange Cassidy
- Kip Sabian & The Hybrid 2 vs.The Elite (Bucks & Omega)- Winners: The Elite
- Lucha Bros vs. SCU for the AEW World Tag Team Championships - Winners: SCU
The major highlight this week was, of course, the ending of the Tag Team Tournament and the crowning of the first ever AEW Tag Team Champions. SCU (Frankie Kazarian & Scorpio Sky) was victorious in an epic battle against the Lucha Bros. The match was fantastic, with sequences, reversals, and dramatic moments that you have to see to believe. Either team would have been perfect to hold the belts first, but SCU was able to pull out the win. Really cool to see, especially for me since I've been a long time fan of Kazarian. Here are the results for WWE's NXT. This week got pretty crazy:
- The Kabuki Warriors (Asuka & Kairi Sane) (c) vs. Dakota Kai & Tegan Knox for the Women's Tag Team Championship - Winners: The Kabuki Warriors
- Tyler Bate vs. Cameron Grimes - Winner: Cameron Grimes
- Candice LeRae vs. Io Shirai - Winner: Io Shirai
- Bronson Reed vs. Shane Thorne - Winner: Bronson Reed
- Keith Lee & Matt Riddle vs. The Undisputed Era (Bobby Fish & Kyle O'Reilly) - Winners: The Undisputed Era
The major highlight for this week was the crazy development coming out of the Women's Tag Team Championship match. It began as a great match between the two teams, The Kabuki Warriors and Kai & Nox. Great action which ended in a title defense on behalf of the Warriors. But after the finish, NXT Women's Champion Shayna Baszler stormed the ring (with her Horsewomen), and soon it erupted into a full on brawl, with Rhea Ripley, Bianca Belair, and Candice LeRae joining the chaos. As the brawl continued, it became clear that a big moment was happening, and it is major: A new women's wrestling first...War Games (a team based hardcore cage match with TWO rings)! NXT GM William Regal announced that a War Games match would be his solution for the ongoing battle between these great women. And I can't wait. It's going to be wild (especially for a Ripley/Candice mark like myself).
