Guests on Disney World’s Jungle Cruise ride got a little wetter than usual today when their boat sank.
Photos of the ride slowly sinking into the shallow water hit social media this afternoon and began trending. A Facebook post from Kimberley German shows riders climbing up on railings and hanging on the outside of the boat.
Guest Matthew Vince, who was aboard the boat, wrote, “Our boat on the Jungle Cruise sank today. Fun times.”
A Disney spokesperson tells WESH Orlando the park immediately called the Reedy Creek Fire Department.
The boat, "Bomokandi Bertha," sank around 12:30 and caused the ride to shut down for 2 hours. During that time the passengers were safely unloaded, there were no reported injuries, just wet socks. The boat was towed away.
The attraction has reopened.
