Miami-Dade County officials have announced the closure of restaurant dining rooms, gyms, banquet halls and more across the county in response to concerns over the COVID-19 virus.
“The only way to get ahead of COVID-19 and stop the spread of this virus is by taking some very extraordinary actions,” Miami-Dade Mayor Carlos Gimenez said.
Governor Ron DeSantis also spoke yesterday, announcing the closing all of Florida’s bars and nightclubs for the next 30 days. He also said he’s asking Florida’s university board of governors to require students to return home for remote learning for the rest of the spring semester.
