Andrew Cotter’s commentary is the next best thing to sports announcing during the coronavirus pandemic.
Cotter, who works for BBC Sport covering major events, took his boredom and created a video in which he commentated on his two Labradors, Olive and Mabel, racing to finish their food. The hilarious video starts with the pair eagerly awaiting their dinner as Cotter touches on the 'tension in the air'.
Cotter says: "Olive in her familiar black, a five-time champion. Mable, the rising star winning here last year. You can see how excited they are."
“I was bored,” Cotter captioned the clip that has garnered more than 5 million views in its first 24 hours online.
Cotter isn’t the only announcer who’s been putting their on-air talents to amusing use during lockdowns. Fellow British broadcaster Nick Heath has taken to commentating on everyday life, from bees in trees to dogs in parks.
