Update: Tom Cruise Officially Launching Into Space October 2021

Tom Cruise is officially going to space for his upcoming adventure movie with 'Edge of Tomorrow' director Doug Liman.

The ground-breaking film was announced earlier this year, confirming that Cruise and Liman had teamed up with Elon Musk's Space X and NASA to make it happen. Now the deal has been finalized and we have a tentative launch date.

Space Shuttle Almanac confirmed on Twitter that the Axiom Space Station, piloted by Commander Michael Lopez-Alegria, will set off on a tourist mission in October 2021 with Cruise and Liman on board. There's no title for the film right now, but Liman is busy working on the script and Universal will be backing the project with a budget of around $200 million.

NASA confirmed their involvement in the project earlier this year via Twitter, where NASA administrator Jim Bridenstine tweeted: “NASA is excited to work with @TomCruise on a film aboard the @Space_Station!
