I'm fifty-eight movies deep into Hallmark's "Countdown to Christmas 2020" and so far every single one of them has a scene with the characters all getting together to decorate their impossibly gorgeous tree. Pre-pandemic I loved to travel during Christmas (thanks to company holidays I could have a longer trip without using all my vacation days), so I never really bothered going all out on the decorating or worried about how it looked.
Since I'm stuck at home this year, I decided to find out how to get the perfect Christmas tree and learned that I've been hanging the lights all wrong. According to experts (aka, the influencers I follow on social media) you should just do the front...and hang them VERTICALLY. Starting at the bottom go straight to the top, then back down and repeat until the entire front is filled. This way you're not wasting lights on the part no one can see AND it's super easy to fix the lights if they break.
