Scary moment last night during the Phillies / Cardinals game.
Bryce Harper was hit square in the face by a 97-mph fastball on the first pitch from Genesis Cabrera, who came in to pitch at the top of the 6th for the Cardinals.
Harper left the game after getting hit.
Then, on his next pitch, Cabrera smacked Didi Gregorius in the ribs. At that point Phillies manager Joe Girardi came storming out of the dugout and was ejected.
Harper posted an update for fans after the game and said he was okay, his CT scan showed nothing, there doesn’t even appear to be a bruise or swelling on his cheek!
Phillies ended up winning that game, 5-3.
