A wild fistfight broke out between two passengers on an American Airlines flight — over a reclined seat that got stuck.
According to witnesses, the plane was returning to Austin from New Orleans when the two men started verbally assaulting each other over the defective seat.
A passenger on the flight sent KXAN video of what happened.
The footage shows the two men trading blows in the cramped cabin as other travelers look on and beg them to stop.
Austin Police were called onto the plane to escort the individuals off the aircraft and confirmed both were detained.
American Airlines released a statement confirming the incident:
Law enforcement were requested to meet American Eagle flight 4698, operated by Republic Airways, after arriving to Austin (AUS) from New Orleans (MSY) due to an altercation between passengers.
