How I spent my Christmas vacation, part one: The Bahamas
The trip started out WAY wrong, when we showed up at the airport only to find our plane, um..broken! They finally fixed it but I’ll NEVER fly that airline again. The return flight was much better and we did live. So there’s that.
We arrived in Marsh Harbor, got on my buddies boat and immediately hit the Rum Bar at the Hopetown Inn and Marina. That’s a Goombay Smash in case you’re wondering!
Within an hour of landing we hit the Sea of Abaco and did some trolling for Mutton Snapper…we successfully caught dinner…
Which the restaurant promptly cooked up for us along with the famous Bahamas Mac N Cheese!!
This was a sad moment. I should have been better prepared:

If you ever find yourself in the Abacos make sure you have lunch or dinner at Firefly, they make their own booze too! What a view!
Much nicer flight home but hated to leave!
