Mahi Mahi is Your Weekend Go To!
Pictured here is a load of nice mahi-mahi that we caught while Swordfishing a few days back. The mahi have been plentiful on weed lines starting at about 600 feet of water. Over the course of the week we have run across three or four substantial weed lines with fish on them. This weekend I highly recommend taking a trip offshore in pursuit of some mahi. If you can get your hands on some live bait that would be optimum but these fish can still be trolled up easily. The seaweed has really made it difficult near shore and the dirty green freshwater from the rain has made the fishing tough on the reefs. To find really clean blue water you must go at least 15 miles offshore but you can stop on those weed lines to catch mahi on the way out. Some of the bigger mahi caught this week we’re outside in the blue water with fish over 20 pounds.
