For months this winter, the buzz around South Florida was all about Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift sightings...from Panthers games to workouts at local gyms, even a trip to the local Restoration Hardware for Travis and his dad Ed.
Now we know that one of Kelce’s latest high-profile moments happened right in our backyard.
During The Paul Castronovo Show this week the crew got the scoop from Marshall Jones, owner of Mack's Fish Camp, the location for Kelce’s recent GQ magazine photoshoot.
Marshall told us the call came in as a “mystery shoot” - no names, just a tight five-day turnaround. The property is no stranger to cameras, having hosted photo, video, and even movie shoots before. But when they learned it was for GQ and featured the Kansas City Chiefs star, the excitement was on.
No Taylor this time, but Kelce’s entourage and the full GQ crew rolled in. Marshall said they were “one of the best crews we ever worked with” and described Kelce as “larger than life in so many ways, but a really humble guy when you meet him.”
And yes, those now-iconic photos of Kelce standing in the middle of the lily pads came with a bit of Florida wildlife reality, including snakes, gators, and all. Marshall explained that they always run a safety sweep before letting anyone into the water. Kelce? No hesitation. “He was 100% all about getting in that water and being one with the environment.”
